Connecting a VoIP desk phone

To get the most out of our service, we would highly recommend using a VoIP desk phone. This gives you access to advanced call features, with the ability to make and receive calls from anywhere with an internet connection thanks to the plug and play functionality.

• Ideal for those who are predominantly office-based and have the need for multiple lines.

Using Babelphone

Goldfish.ie has it’s own custom designed softphone, available exclusively for our customers. Babelphone is our browser-based VoIP softphone. No download or installation is required, all you need is the URL and your SIP ID and Password.

Using a VoIP softphone

If you don’t want to invest in a physical VoIP desk phone, you can instead use a VoIP softphone. These are pieces of software (often free) that can be installed on a desktop computer, giving you the ability to make and receive calls through a headset connected to your desktop computer.

Using a VoIP app

Similar to VoIP softphones, VoIP apps are designed for those on the move. Giving you the ability to make and receive calls through an app on your smartphone, they provide all the benefits of a standard VoIP device while making sure you’re always available to receive calls wherever you are.

Forwarding to an external number

If you’re simply looking to receive calls, you can choose our Call Forwarding service. With Goldfish.ie, you can forward all incoming calls to external landline or mobile numbers. Check out our Call Redirector service for more info.

• No access to the Internet and so can’t connect a dedicated VoIP device.
• If you have no need of making external calls from your Goldfish.ie number.
• Great backup plan if you lose Internet connectivity.

Use your existing phone

If you want to keep an existing analogue phone but benefit from calls through VoIP, you can use a VoIP adapter. This allows you to convert your legacy telephone to be able to make and receive VoIP calls.

Direct all calls to voicemail

If you’re looking to receive calls as a voicemail service, you don’t need to connect a VoIP device to your Goldfish.ie number. All calls will be redirected to our voicemail service where you’ll receive a copy of the voicemail via email.

• No need to receive calls.
• Ideal for those that aren’t available to take calls but want to receive voicemail messages from callers, such as bookings.
